- My goal is to help you resolve your disputes without going to court.
- I prepare all of the necessary paperwork and file it for you.
- Everything discussed in my mediation process is confidential.
- I am an attorney and my legal expertise is a valuable part of what I have to offer. I will help you understand the law as it would be applied to your situation in order to help you solve your divorce issues.
- As your mediator I am a neutral facilitator and as such I do not represent either party as their attorney. Rather, I work with all involved parties to help everyone reach a mutually acceptable agreement you feel is fair and just, based on your unique circumstances. This is the great strength of mediation, together we will design an agreement that works for you.
- Once reached, I draft the agreement and it is submitted to the court for a judge to sign. This agreement is then enforceable in a court of law, just as a litigated settlement would be. Unlike a litigated settlement, however, mediation is significantly less expensive than going to court.
- If you have children, mediation is a process that serves the best interests of your children. In my private, confidential mediation process, both parents work together to resolve any issues related to their children.
- Because mediation considers the “big picture” and looks to the future, families who mediate find that they are better equipped to work together amicably should issues involving their children arise in the future.
- Avoiding continuing legal battles not only saves parents money, it reduces the emotional strain children experience when their parents must resort to an adversarial litigation process to resolve each dispute that arises
COSTS
- I charge a retainer of $3,000. This money is kept in a client trust account and is used to pay for work on your case as it is completed.
- My hourly rate is $250. If I co-mediate your case then the two attorney mediators are at the mediation table for $250 an hour (not $500 or $600). Any work completed away from the mediation table by either attorney will be billed at my hourly rate.
FREE CONSULTATION
- Immediately before our first scheduled mediation session I meet with all parties for a free half-hour introductory session. This half hour introduction to my services will help you determine whether mediation is appropriate for your particular situation
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
- If you are interested in retaining my mediation services, please call me to confirm your decision. To proceed with the mediation process, please be sure to take the following steps:
- Each party should call me or email me to discuss my mediation process.
- One party should call me to let me know if both parties want to proceed.
- The $3,000 retainer should be sent to my office to be deposited into my client trust account.
